June 2007 Meeting Minutes

Southern Innkeepers Association - Annual Membership Meeting
Tuesday, June 19, 2007 - Pinehurst Resort, NC

The meeting was called to order at 8:20am by President Mike Stange.

1. Minutes:
a motion carried to accept the minutes of the Sept 12, 2006 meeting at the Williamsburg Inn as presented.

2. Election of Officers & Directors:
Slate of officers for 2008 was accepted by membership.

3. Membership Report:
Emily Bartlett gave membership totals of 80 paid members, with 15 members not renewing in 2007 due to leaving/moving/no email. Goal was presented to membership of "100 Members for our 100th Jubilee" and it was agreed that headquarters would send a directory and application to all members via email. The following new members were welcomed: Phillip Cunningham, Williamsburg Inn; John Sharpe, Bohan Advertising; Doyle Parrish, Summit Hospitality; Ian Sauer, Summit Hospitality; Jeffrey Marquis, Guest Services; Barry Trice, Guest Services; Michael Gordon, The Greenbrier.

4. Report of Treasurer:
motion carried to accept the financial statement as presented.

5. New Business:
Mike Stange recapped the discussion of the board meeting. He encouraged promotion of the 2008 Jubilee and asked members to bring 1 new property into the association. He also stated that membership will not be required in order to attend the 100th Jubilee.

6. Future Meetings:
Mike Stange announced the 2008 meeting will be hosted by The Greenbrier, 2009 will be hosted by The Washington Duke, and 2010 will be announced at a later date.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:35am.
